In a move that is surprising to noone, KDE4 has been delayed until mid-January. The betas felt like alpha releases, and the RC feels like a late alpha, so this really should not be a surprise to anyone.While I do believe that the January release will ultimately prove disappointing to those who (unrealisticly) expected a solid user oriented 4.0 release, I am still optimistic on the project as a whole. The next two releases over the coming year will give them a great opportunity to refine this product into something attractive and usable.Having said that, I will believe that kde should have planned to get here using an iterative, scheduled release cycle. Scheduled releases work well in the FOSS world, and throwing away everything to start over like this really needs to stop happening for major core desktop components such as KDE.
