Ubuntu 9.04 "Jaunty Jackalope" announced
Still not lack wait until October for the final version of the next version 8.10 "Intrepid Ibex" Ubuntu, however Mark Shuttleworth and some details ahead of its next version. This is Ubuntu 9.04 whose code name is "Jaunty Jackalope" and will be presented, as its name indicates, in April 2009.
"As we approach the launch of Ubuntu 8.10, it's time to create space for future plans ... (Jaunty) will be the focus of our efforts since November to April next year," Shuttleworth said in an e-mail to developers of the project.
Shuttleworth also revealed that Ubuntu 9.04 will focus on reducing dramatically its starting time and erase the line between applications for desktop and the next wave of software for the Web. With "Jaunty Jackalope" Ubuntu also migrate all its repositories of code to Bazaar.
More details of Ubuntu 9.04 "Jaunty Jackalope" will be presented at the next Ubuntu Developer Summit, to be held from 8 to December 12 next on the campus of Google in Mountain View.
