Google Chrome for Linux uses GTK +
And although the very early versions of Chrome for Linux and Mac OS X are a little harder to make than expected, Ben Goodger, in charge of the browser interface, revealed interesting details about the project, first of all, the Linux version of Chrome will be based on GTK + (!) and not another like Qt because:
"Google keeps toolkits for multi-platform user interface, because although they can offer what superficially seems a quick way to look at a variety of native platforms, once one delves more are being a little more problematic."
Goodger said that those applications end up "speaking with a foreign accent" and that something like Qt "limits what you can do a subset of the features of the lowest common denominator that is supported by the framework on each platform."
